Cardiac Surgery has started at Stamford Hospital. Under the direction of Dr. Li Poa, a team of surgeons, physcians, nurses, perfusionist and specialized staff members are performing heart operations including valve surgery and coronary bypass.

Stamford Hospital is an American College of Surgeons' verified and state-designated Level II Trauma Center.
Stamford Hospital is a state-designated Level II Trauma Center. As a Level II Trauma Center, we provide advanced patient care in all medical and surgical specialties, including resuscitation and life-support services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Stamford Hospital is one of only eight such facilities in the State of Connecticut.
Every member of the Stamford Surgical Center is board-certified or board-eligible. Quality assurance and performance improvement is an ongoing focus of all surgical divisions. Many members of the department have participated in and published research in a wide range of areas.
