Dr. Davis has personally performed more than 1,000 bariatric surgeries - one of the most in our region - using gastric banding, roux-en-Y gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch and revisional procedures. His patients' outcomes have been overwhelmingly positive.
Prior to coming to Stamford in the summer of 2010, he served on the surgery faculty of Columbia University as Assistant Clinical Professor and was Director of Bariatric Surgery at Lawrence Hospital of Bronxville, NY and Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Dr. Davis is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr Davis also served as investigator in The National Institutes of Health, ongoing clinical study: Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery (LABS)

Dory Ferraro is the program's Clinical Director. She has specialized in the field of obesity surgery for over seventeen years in the greater New York region, and has been instrumental in the development of bariatric practices throughout the United States. She has also received international recognition for her expertise in the management of the bariatric surgery patient.
Ms. Ferraro has worked both in the OR and outpatient setting with thousands of bariatric patients, partnering with them to ensure they have a positive surgical experience.

The Center draws on our bariatric team's expertise to provide free surgical weight loss seminars, nutritional counseling, psychiatric evaluation, and post-operation support groups.

In addition, our bariatric program offers medically supervised weight management for patients who do not qualify for surgery or simply prefer to take a different approach. Non-surgical bariatric weight loss services range from dietary and diabetes counseling to seminars and community education.

A medical doctor specializing in family medicine, he completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, School of Medicine, where he trained directly under the renowned natural physician, Dr. Andrew Weil. In this two-year program, Dr. Feuerstein studied a wide range of CAM modalities with special emphasis on nutrition and disease prevention. Dr. Feuerstein is also certified in Clinical Hypnosis and Clinical Acupuncture.
He is board certified in family medicine and completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at UCLA. As a physician with extensive training in traditional allopathic medicine and complementary and alternative medicine disciplines, Dr. Brodsky comes to Stamford Hospital from UCLA, where he was an Assistant Clinical Professor under the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Megan is our program’s Staff Psychologist. She provides pre-surgical psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery candidates, cognitive behavioral therapy for pre- and post-surgical patients, and bariatric support and educational groups. She is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Before coming to Stamford Hospital in 2011, Dr. Megan served for several years as a clinical psychologist for patients with obesity and eating disorders, providing counseling and pre-surgical evaluations. Dr. Megan also served as a registered nurse for more than 15 years before pursuing and completing her doctoral work at Yeshiva University.
Jane Conway is the Clinical Dietitian at the Center for Surgical Weight Loss. She assists patients with preoperative and postoperative meal planning, and follows up with patients by monitoring their weight reduction and management. Her license as a clinical social worker adds another dimension to her specialty in eating disorders and weight-related issues. She has expertise in Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training, helping patients become more aware of how they eat and learn to fully taste and experience each bite.
Jane Conway has been at Stamford Hospital since 1998, and previously worked as a staff clinical dietitian, providing nutrition education to inpatients. She holds a Masters degree in Nutrition from New York Medical College, as well as a Masters in Social Work from Columbia. She is certified as a Health and Fitness Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine, which helps her understand the role of exercise with weight management.
