Endoscopy Center

The Endoscopy Center at Tully Health Center

Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure used to examine a person's digestive tract. Using an endoscope, a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it, your doctor can view pictures of your digestive tract on a color TV monitor.

The Endoscopy Center, located on the second floor of the Tully Health Center, offers endoscopic screening tests, which assist your doctor in diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions and illnesses. The two most commonly performed procedures at the center are:

Colonscopy

Colonoscopy, which checks the entire colon and the lower part of the GI tract. An endoscope is passed into the large intestine (colon) through the rectum to examine this area of the intestine.

Upper GI Gastroscopy

Upper GI Gastroscopy , which checks the upper portion of the GI tract, including the esophagus and first part of the small intestine. During an upper endoscopy, an endoscope is easily passed through the mouth and throat and into the esophagus allowing the doctor to view the esophagus, stomach, and upper part of the small intestine.

The Endoscopy Center has several private preparation and procedure rooms for your comfort and privacy. If you need the services of our center, your physician's office will schedule you for your procedure(s) and advise you of the date.
