Medical Care for Diabetes and Endocrine Conditions

Endocrinology is a specialty medical practice, working in collaboration with your own medical team. We welcome referrals from your physician or, if you come in on your own, we'll ask for contact information in order to share all medical data we gather and also collaborate on a plan of care.

You can call (203) 276-7286  or email us to schedule your own appointment or your doctor's medical staff may do it for you. All appointments are scheduled for weekdays, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Diabetes Self-Management Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy

Our Diabetes Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy session appointments are available to the community directly by calling (203) 276-7286. We will work as a resource with your medical team who can provide direction and information to formulate your individualized teaching plan.

Individual appointments for Diabetes Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy are scheduled weekdays, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We offer group classes at different times and on several different weekdays, along with one evening session each month.

Insurance

Medicare and other insurance carriers offer a wide range of benefits for Diabetes Self-Management Training and for Medical Nutrition Therapy. Some insurers cover treatment for patients with pre-diabetes or who come for nutrition sessions for enhanced good health, while some do not. Insurers are more likely to cover this type of treatment if you have a co-existing condition such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

We will bill your insurance carrier directly for our services. Co-payments at the time of the visit are your responsibility.

Stamford Hospital participates with and accepts virtually all major medical insurance plans. While we will make every attempt to learn about the specifics of your particular insurance coverage, we encourage you to contact your health insurer directly to obtain details about which services are covered and which are not.
