Lymphedema Therapy Services
Specially trained therapists use proven lymphedema treatments to help patients manage and prevent the painful swelling and potentially dangerous infections that can follow a trauma, lymph node surgery or radiation. Lymphedema is most commonly seen in women who have had surgery and radiation for breast cancer.
Painless, non-invasive lymphedema treatments offered by Stamford Hospital's Outpatient Rehabilitation professionals include:
- Gentle massage to encourage lymph drainage
- Lymphedema compression therapy with specialized bandages or garments
- Specialized skin care and education
