Oral Surgery
At Stamford Hospital, our staff of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons diagnose, treat and manage conditions, defects and injuries of the mouth, teeth, jaws and face.
Conditions and symptoms treated include:
- Treatment and repair of traumatic injuries of the face, jaws, mouth and teeth including fractures and lacerations.
- Diagnosis and treatment of infections of the jaws and face.
- Diagnosis and treatment of cysts, tumors and other lesions of the jaws and face.
- Reconstructive hard and soft tissue surgery to correct defects resulting from trauma or tumor surgery.
- Surgical correction of oral and facial deformities caused by problems in skeletal/jaw growth.
- Dental implant placement to replace missing teeth.
- Major and minor bone grafting to reconstruct jaw defects.
- Diagnosis and management of impacted teeth (wisdom teeth), tooth extraction and dentoalveolar surgery.
- Treatment of facial pain including problems related to temporomandibular joint disorders and disease.
Other problems that may be treated via oral surgery techniques include:
- Facial nerve injury
- Temporomandibular joint problems that are amenable to surgical therapy
- Aesthetic facial surgery
We do not provide routine dental care or non-surgical emergency dental treatment.
