Nephrology & Kidney Disease Treatment
The Department of Nephrology at Stamford Hospital treats kidney disease and other problems related to kidney function. We offer a full range of diagnostic tests for kidney disease, including kidney biopsy, nuclear magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and the most up-to-date kidney replacement therapies available. Kidney disease services are offered on both an in- and outpatient basis.
Stamford Hospital has five board-certified kidney physicians specializing in nephrology on staff. Specialized services include:
- Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis (CAPD and CCPD)
- Continuous venovenous hemofiltration, offered in the critical care unit
- Plasmapheresis and hemoperfusion.
- Home hemodialysis, including NxStage, is also available through the outpatient dialysis unit.
