Stamford Hospital's Intensive Care Unit treats critically ill adult medical and surgical patients who need complex, specialized critical care and constant monitoring.

Located on the Stamford Hospital campus, in the Whittingham Specialty Care Pavilion, the Intensive Care Unit is equipped to provide patients with the safest and most advanced intensive care. Technology ranges from sophisticated bedside monitors to leading-edge ventilators and defibrillators, with staff specially trained to treat patients with complex and life-threatening conditions.

Leading our intensive care team are board-certified critical care physicians and nurses with advanced intensive care training. ICU patients also benefit from the extensive range of skilled specialty physicians, house physicians, respiratory therapists and other health professionals available at the Hospital.

Because being in an ICU can be an overwhelming emotional experience, staff members are always available to listen to patients' and loved ones concerns and answer questions. When needed, psychologists and spiritual counselors are also available.
