Donor Stories
Rowayton resident Brooke Connors was delighted when asked to join the Planning Committee for Stamford Hospital's Dream Ball, held last November to raise money for the Department of Pediatrics. Along with husband Patrick, she already cared deeply about the cause: In 2001, Brooke went into labor prematurely—delivering twins Molly and Murphy two months early. Both struggled; Molly survived. Little Murphy, now honored by a plaque in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), lived less than a day.
Grateful for the care the babies received, the young couple worked with the Connors Family Foundation, established to support children's health and education, the environment and the arts, to make a major donation to Stamford Hospital's NICU.
The family supports other Stamford Hospital causes as well, most recently hosting a party to which each guest brought a toy for David's Treasure Tree, the gift closet in the Pediatrics Unit.
When they're old enough to understand, Molly, Grayson and Campbell Connors will visit the NICU to see where their brother's name adorns a wall. Perhaps someday, their parents hope, the children will work on behalf of the hospital as well.
