| STAMFORD, CT - December 14, 2009 New Canaan resident Dr. Leonard Ferrucci received Stamford Hospital's Physician Recognition Award. Dr. Ferrucci, who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, was nominated by fellow physicians and hospital personnel for the honor.
The Physician Recognition Award is given quarterly to the physician who has shown an ongoing commitment to the hospital's Planetree philosophy of patient-focused care and has been a role model to other staff members. Additionally, the selected physician has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to living Stamford Hospital's daily values: Teamwork, Integrity, Compassion, Respect and Accountability.
"Dr. Ferrucci leads by example, demonstrating compassion for his patients and treating his co-workers and patients with the utmost respect," said Dr. John Rodis, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Stamford Hospital. "He has always been an active supporter of team training and resident education, taking seriously his responsibility to teach obstetrics and gynecology and family medicine residents at the Hospital."
Dr. Ferrucci received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and completed his residency at Stamford Hospital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Columbia University in New York City.
